Beach Fun and Water Play

Your guide to swimming beaches, pools and waterplay parks in Werribee and Surrounds.

Werribee South Beach is an untouched, quiet beach that forms part of the foreshore area, with public toilets, two playgrounds, coastal walking trail, barbeques and fish and chips nearby at the Anglers Anchorage.

This summer, the beach will be patrolled by Life Saving Victoria from 26 December 2023 – 28 January 2024 11:30am – 6:30pm.

To the right of the beach, near the boat ramp there are also launch sites for kayaking and paddle boarding into the bay or into Werribee River – recommended for experienced paddlers.

If the pool is more your thing, head to AquaPulse – one of the largest aquatic centres in the West with lap pools, aquatic playground and two water slides, or for old school fun head to the newly renovated Werribee Outdoor Pool.

The region is also home to some great water play based playgrounds for the kids including Crocodile Park in Point Cook, where could combine your visit with the walk along the beach at Point Cook Coastal Park.

In Werribee, try Riverwalk Water Park or if you’re heading to Werribee Open Range Zoo pack the kids’ bathers to enjoy the Hippo Water Play area.

At Wyndham Harbour, you’ll find great coastal views, a playground and mini golf, along with waterside dining at  3030 Boulevard– perfect for a sunny afternoon with friends.

However you start the day, make sure it finishes with a visit to Augustus Gelatery, in Werribee City Centre.
