Pack your trunks and come and see the new Elephant Trail at Werribee Open Range Zoo!
This world-class 21-hectare trail is now open and it looks incredible!
The new space is the same size as Melbourne Zoo, providing lots of room for the herd of nine Asian Elephants to roam.
Embark on a walking safari adventure to discover the elephants in their new home, including six large habitats for roaming and foraging, deep wading pools and overpasses that allow the elephants to cross over visitor walking trails.
Enjoy views overlooking the pools from the terrace, where you can also grab a bite to eat and a coffee from the new Waterhole Café.
Wander under the Elephant Overpass, catch one of the free daily talks and check out the Elephant Barn, where you can learn about how the herd uses the space.
Planning Your Visit
The Zoo team recommend at least two-hours to explore the full Elephant Trail, plus you'll want to include plenty of time to explore the other walking trails and enjoy the free Safari Bus tour.
The Elephant and Waterhole Trails will open at 9.45am daily.
