King’s Birthday Long Weekend

Luxe stays, high tea fit for royalty and one of the biggest horse events of the year. Saddle up for the long weekend from 7 - 9 June 2025!
 

Melbourne International Three Day Event
Every June, the country’s best horse riders converge at Werribee Park for Victoria’s premier eventing competition. The cross-country course winds its way through the grounds of Werribee Park Mansion, Victoria State Rose Garden and the National Equestrian Centre. Catch all of the excitement from 6 – 9 June. Tickets essential, with general admission from $10 - $45. 

Note: Werribee Park Mansion and Grounds and the Victoria State Rose Garden will be closed to the general public on Sunday 8 June (open only to event spectators).

High Tea Fit for Royalty
Indulge with high tea on Saturday or Sunday in the plush surrounds of Joseph’s Dining in Lancemore Mansion Hotel Werribee Park, with bookings essential.

See a Show 
Werribee Park Mansion makes for a pretty incredible stage – especially after dark, with the immersive theatre production The Dress on Saturday 7 June and Sunday 8 June. Bookings essential

Explore the region on board the Free Visitor Shuttle Bus!
Explore Werribee and Surrounds using the free Visitor Shuttle Bus operating between Werribee Station and  attractions in Werribee Park and Wyndham Harbour. Hop on board to discover must-see attractions and explore the region at your own pace. The new trial service includes operates four days a week, Friday – Monday until 23 June 2025 including the King's Birthday public holiday.

Go on Safari
Turn your long weekend into an African safari at Werribee Open Range Zoo! The Safari Bus (included in entry) is a must. For more family fun, take your pick from mini golfbowling, laser tag and arcade games, Village Cinemas at Pacific Werribee or the terrific playground at Wyndham Park.

Indulge at Shadowfax Winery
Shadowfax Winery will be open all weekend for cellar door tastings or a long lunch (lunch bookings recommended). Dinner bookings are also available on Saturday night but you’ll need to be quick! 

Cosy Stays
Enjoy a cosy weekend away with an Embers and Wine package at Lancemore Mansion Hotel Werribee Park where you’ll toast s’mores under open skies, share breakfast for two, all with the grand gardens of Werribee Park as your backdrop. For added indulgence, book a treatment at the onsite L.M. Spa.

Fancy a golfing weekend? Try Quest Sanctuary Lakes or for centrally located accommodation options, enjoy a relaxing stay at Holiday Inn Werribee or Quest Werribee.

Spend a Day at the Footy
Soak up the relaxed atmosphere of a VFL match and cheer on Werribee Football Club as they take on North Melbourne at Chirnside Park in Werribee City Centre on Saturday 7 June. Stay on after the game, with loads of restaurants, casual dining, pubs and takeaways just a short stroll away.

Explore the RAAF Museum
Explore one the best collections of historical aircraft in the world at the RAAF Museum in Point Cook! The Museum is currently open on Thursdays and Sundays from 10am – 3pm and online bookings (free) are essential. Aviation buffs should also check out the B-24 Liberator Memorial Australia (ticketed), open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays.

Outdoor Adventures
Rug up and embrace the cooler days with a walk through Cheetham Wetlands or Werribee South Foreshore . Enjoy a long lunch and cellar door tasting at Shadowfax Winery (bookings essential) or enjoy a warming winter feast at 3030 Waterfront, Corked Wine Bar,  Mama Lor Restaurant & Bakery or Bridge Hotel Werribee
