Bay Trail

From Skeleton Creek Trail at the edge of Cheetham Wetlands (near the Bridge to Altona Meadows) you can join the dedicated, shared path Bay Trail for a 46 kilometre return journey through Altona and Williamstown.

This section of the Bay Trail is also known as the Hobsons Bay Coastal Trail.

Take time to stop off at the 100 Steps of Federation at Truganina Park and enjoy views of the You Yangs, Macedon Ranges and the Dandenongs.

From Truganina Park, cross over Laverton Creek Footbridge and continue along the trail to Altona and into Williamstown, taking care along the esplanade which can get particularly busy on weekends.

Keep an eye out for future Bay Trail upgrades, with plans to connect the trail to Point Cook Coastal Park and Werribee South Beach in the next few years.
