Werribee Racing Club

The Werribee Racing Club and racecourse is located just 30 kilometres from Melbourne and in close proximity to Werribee City Centre.

The club is steeped in a long racing tradition, with the site of the racecourse dating back

to 1861, where it was part of the Chirnside family’s estate.

Throughout the year, the Club host a season of racing events and functions, including the popular Werribee Cup.

Visitors are able to enjoy a relaxed day of country racing, with great food, company and entertainment, with dining and corporate packages available.

Werribee Racecourse is also home to the Werribee International Horse Centre, where international horses, trainers and jockeys quarantine and prepare for Melbourne’s Spring Racing Carnival including the Melbourne Cup.

The Centre’s synthetic track and state-of-the-art equine health facilities make it comparable to facilities in Dubai and Hong Kong, providing Australian and international horses, with the ideal facility to prepare for major group races.

The site also includes the Werribee Functions & Events Centre– a fully catered, licensed and serviced venue, with views of the lush racecourse grounds, track, stables and gardens.

Werribee Functions & Events Centre includes a range of indoor and outdoor spaces options set over 100 acres of green space, with capacity for 50 to 10,000 guests for events both large and small.

The venue includes onsite parking and amenities and is located just 3 kilometres from Werribee City Centre, where you’ll find major hotels, restaurants and metropolitan train and bus services.
