Feel like you’ve stumbled onto a movie set? Little River’s sweeping grassland plains, waterways and historic buildings have provided the backdrop for films including The Dressmaker, Gallipoli, Ned Kelly and most famously, Mad Max. Iconic Australian 1970s rock band, Little River Band, also named their band after the town.

Built in the 1840s, the Little River B&B still provides a rest stop for travellers and next door, the Little River Hotel serves up country charm and delicious pub food.

The distinctive granite peaks of the You Yangs Regional Park provide a stunning backdrop for Little River. A mecca for bushwalking, mountain biking and horseback riding. For adventures on foot walk up the Flinders Peak summit trail to be rewarded with stunning views over Port Phillip Bay.

The area boasts a rich indigenous history, home to the Wathaurong people.
